About Grillo 2019
Grillo is one of the flagship red wines of the family-owned winery El Grillo y La Luna, situated in Barbastro in the Somontano wine-growing region of Aragón.
The winery places particular emphasis on vineyard management, grape maturity and meticulous manual selection. Grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a double selection process to ensure only the finest fruit is used.
Fermentation takes place in French oak vessels, followed by maturation in carefully selected oak barrels. This approach produces a concentrated but balanced wine that combines the intensity of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon with the warmth of Garnacha and softness of Merlot.
The 2019 growing season was described by the winery as exceptional, with healthy fruit and favourable ripening conditions.
