About Faustino Cava Brut Reserva
Bodegas Faustino was established in 1861 by the Martínez Zabala family and remains one of Rioja’s historic landmark houses. While the vast majority of Cava is produced in Catalonia, Faustino holds official rights under the D.O. Cava regulatory board to craft sparkling wines in
Rioja Alavesa.
The estate vineyards sit on chalky clay-limestone terraces at an elevation of 650 meters, benefiting from a continental climate influenced by the Atlantic and the Sierra de Cantabria. These cooler conditions foster exceptional natural acidity and delicate aromatic tension in both Macabeo and Chardonnay. Made strictly via the Traditional Method with secondary fermentation in the bottle, the wine spends 18 to 26 months resting on its fine lees before disgorgement, yielding sophisticated textural creaminess balanced by clean, mountain-driven freshness.
